Angelina Aspheim

Through “A Farewell to Samsja” I explore, among other things, nostalgia, which I find fascinating because it is both a subjective and universal feeling. I spent a lot of time in Russia as a child, and as the years have passed, I’ve gained new perspectives and have had to confront my relationship with the country. Although this inner conflict is personal to me, many people experience that growing up involves a confrontation with reality. By presenting my personal experience through something resembling a childhood image, I wish to convey that nostalgia resonates across backgrounds.

I am currently studying at Strykejernet and live nearby. I grew up in Furuset, attended Furustien Kindergarten and almost completed Furuset School before we moved to Trosterud and later to other places. I have lived in many different places, but since Furuset is where I grew up, it will always hold a special place in my heart.
