Biography

Lars Sandås (b. 1984) from Torshov, based at Ammerud.

Smoke is a snapshot taken in the aftermath of a bomb hitting a residential block. The painting is part of a series I have been working on over the past six months, created quickly and intuitively in an attempt to capture different aspects of our contemporary moment.

Connection to Groruddalen
For the past seven years, I have lived at Kalbakken and Ammerud, and I enjoy being here. I also work as a master printer at Norske Grafikere’s Workshop, located in the old shoddy factory at Kalbakken.
