Espen Sørli (1971) lived at Romsås from the age of five until he was 18–19 years old. In the mid-1980s, when hip-hop culture made its entry, his career as a graffiti artist began. In 1990, he published the first Norwegian graffiti fanzine, FROM HERE TO……, featuring both Norwegian and international graffiti artists. The last issue was published in 1999. In 2002, he established his first studio in Oslo. He has consistently collaborated with numerous artists in Norway and abroad. In 2014, he initiated the art project Oslo Spa, using Oslo Prosjektrom as an exhibition space for countless Norwegian artists, most recently in 2024.
Espen Sørli has included his works in large installations and has carried out numerous public and private art commissions, often in collaboration with artists from various disciplines.
He is a trained bookbinder, a self-taught artist—and has been drawing for as long as he can remember.
