Elin Glærum Haugland

Elin Glærum Haugland, born in 1988, grew up in Bærum, lives at Romsås, and holds a degree from the Academy of Fine Art in Trondheim and the Art Academy in Bergen.

Thulitt Dust on Romsås Soil 1–3
Materials: Soil from Romsås mixed with various color pigments, sprinkled with thulitt dust from Trøndelag, on canvas with frame. Dimensions each painting: 24 x 30 cm. Painted at Romsås in 2025. I work with painting, and I am particularly concerned with color, abstraction, and journeys of discovery—both as physical travels and as inner journeys within the painting process itself. Many of my works are created with mineral pigments from stone and soil I collect in nature. I have worked with this project in the Amazon in Peru and Brazil, on Easter Island, as well as in Northern Norway, Hvaler, and the Folldal mines. I am interested in color, tactility, and painting in general, and I also work with watercolor, acrylic, and oil painting in other projects.

Connection to Groruddalen
In 2020, I moved to Romsås and was allocated a studio at Romsås Center in 2025. At Romsås and in Groruddalen, I value the tranquility, the nature, the people, and the growing commitment to art and culture.
