Arna Lund Johnsen
In the work Levende stillhet I (Lillomarka), which is part of a larger series, I explore motifs from the nature that surrounds us. With the series, I aim to capture the silence of the forest—a silence I deeply value. It is about discovering that something we previously overlooked or ignored is given life. That silence allows something new, something different, to emerge. It might be something inner—a restlessness or a calm—or something outer, such as the structure of the ground, the brown spruce needles scattered across it, a brown leaf, a red one, the different layers of forest on the hillside, trees that have grown crooked, a tree that has fallen, a forest floor and moss that swallow a fallen trunk, a sudden shift of color from the sunlight, shadows cast by trees, or the sharp discovery of a single ray of light in the undergrowth.
Connection to Groruddalen
I live in Ammerud in Bydel Grorud, where I have resided for the past twelve years. Until May this year, I had my studio at Villa Romsli, and I wish to continue contributing to an expanded art and cultural scene in the district.
