In this two-channel video, I draw on Carl Jung’s ideas about near-death experiences, with the title taken from his archetype of the “Death Mother.”
On the left screen, I have AI-generated a female flight attendant and given her the deep voice of Joseph Lee, a prominent Jungian analyst. On the right, we see real drone footage of fault lines after earthquakes accompanied by sounds from the earth’s interior. In the ambiguous connections between these two dreamscapes—one flying above the other—a tense yet comical death fantasy unfolds.
The work is part of the umbrella project The Ordinary Has Infested All Things, a series of films exploring how artificial intelligence contributes to making even the most sublime or grotesque visual experiences appear mundane.

I have lived at Romsås with my small family for about four years. My daughter attends kindergarten here, and I recently received a studio at Romsås Centre.
