Experience this year’s most exciting gathering of artists at GalleryLab in Romsås. From more than 130 applicants, the jury – in collaboration with Kunstnerforbundet – has selected 27 artists and 36 artworks, each with its own unique expression, background, story, and perspective on contemporary life.
Here, painting, photography, video, sculpture, textiles, works on paper, and installation art come together at Oslo’s newest venue for contemporary art.
ØSTUTSTILLINGEN is more than just an exhibition – it is a snapshot of the vibrant art scene on Oslo’s east side, where new voices are given space and established artists find fresh inspiration.

Collaboration with Kunstnerforbundet
An open call for artists with a connection to Groruddalen was sent out before the summer and resulted in an overwhelming response. Around 350 artworks were submitted for jurying, and we are very proud of the 27 selected artists who will now be presented in ØSTUTSTILLINGEN 2025.
The jury consisted of four young artists from Atelier Kunstnerforbundet – Thora Dolven Balke, Sarah Kazmi, Rafiki and Bendik Bendik – as well as Johan H. Andresen and Helene Gulaker Hansen from the Ferd Art Programme.
All applications were juried anonymously.
The exhibition runs from 6 September to 14 December and will include a programme featuring, among other things, artist talks and collaborations with artists and other partners.
